Methuzulah & MicFlow - GHETTO PASS

It’s winter time in Atlanta. Late February has taken its toll, and the sun beams hitting the windshield of our car as we drive to the studio feel like precious gold rays coming down from the Heavens to warm us up. But even this abundance of light can’t whitewash the reality of our surroundings. All around, men and women are struggling under societal constraints. The kids are smiling, but where are their promises of a better world?
Come along for the ride; we got the Ghetto Pass.
A dark, semi-sweet, soulful atmosphere enters the room as we start laying down tracks on the production. The intensity’s there, but we need a perfect match on vocals to keep the emotion going. I snap and contact Methuzulah on the spot. A week later the delivery is astonishing; magic happens right there in the darkness of Mudnoc Studios in Atlanta, GA. Incredible bars of great MC skills and versatile lyricism.
Initially envisioned as an experimental music encounter between two of the most versatile artists of our times, we decided to share this unique moment of truth. We forged it onto wax for generations to come. And in keeping with our reputation for enduring productions, we turned “Today’s Futuristic” into “Yesterday’s Classic.”

Micflow emerged onto theBeatbox international scene when he K.O.’d his competition at the 2009 Beatbox World Championship. Already a veteran activist of the Beatbox scene, his international success led him to lay down the first ever Beatbox record in France, a 2010 collaboration with the internationally renouned Beatbox collective Under Kontrol. Beyond the fact that Micflow is a producer, a one man army band, and a human music machine, he’s also a rare example of human kindness. His talents and drive have led him around the globe to explore the wonders of the music beyond borders. But back in the studio, and for all our listening pleasure, Micflow delivers a rare track; a soulfool, dark, berry of a sweet.

Methuzulah is also rare human being, and trying to define him would be reductive in looking at his vast array of skills, his childhood, and his active role hometown's community. In Methuzulah Chef’s Apron Program, he reflects his belief in Hip Hop’ mission to educate and teach. Leading the way, and never foresaking the idea of excellence, his determination and skills makes him one of the most underrated artists of his generation. Staying true to mind over matter, he once again delivers consciousness over mindlessness with these intense lyrics.
